[hr] Vendor Profile:

Lee & Gordon Greens

Lee and Gordon Greens

One of our customer favorites, Lee and Gordon Greens is a hydroponic greenhouse located in Chickamauga, Georgia. They provide the highest quality specialty lettuces, herbs, and micro greens year round.

Q: How long have you been a vendor at the market?

A: 4 years

Q: What is your sprouts program?

A: Our sprouts program is all about teaching young kids in second or third grade about Hydroponics. We let them tour the greenhouse and each child plants a lettuce seed. They then watch the progress via weekly emails to the teacher. Once the lettuce is mature we take those heads back to their class and they have a salad along with their regular lunch.

Nutritional Facts:

We don’t usually think of lettuces as being great sources of nutrition, however did you know that 1 cup of chopped bibb lettuce contains only 7 calories, no saturated fat, but contains 36% of your daily value for vitamin A, and 70% of your daily value for vitamin K?
