Grace Adele surrounds herself with the finest talent. Whether she is performing as a duo with her partner in crime, mandolinist Keenan Wade or traveling with her string players known as The Grand Band. The group always delivers an all out striking performance.

A talented instrumentalist herself Ms. Adele adds a spark of comedy as a master of the kazoo and even provides a little tap-danced percussion on occasion. It s a show that encompasses everything from a traditional fiddle tune to original melodies that are both instantly memorable. Listen to her once and you’ll be entranced; see her perform and you’ll understand just how compellingly vital and engaging an artist can be.

BlueBilly Grit Takes you to a crossroad where Old Fashioned Bluegrass meets Progressive, Contemporary, and Rockabilly. With a love for all genres of music, BlueBilly Grit performs the music everyone loves along with new and innovative originals driven by a style all their own.

This group continues to evolve into what they hope will be a force to be reckoned with. Amidst much uncertainty in the music world these days, BlueBilly Grit seems to be holding their coarse, and will be the first to tell you that a source greater than themselves appears to be calling the shots. BlueBilly Grit takes pride in the fact that they’re not just another “hot lick, blazing solo” bluegrass group. It’s all about the song with this group and rightly so because they have something to say. The title of their forthcoming cd and the theme of their performance schedule for 2011 is, “Ready For A Change”. Try to catch them live or purchase some of their music this year and hear for yourselves what BlueBilly Grit has to say.

Roxie makes it easy for her audience to connect with the song by writing what she feels. Her songs are honest and accessible, inviting listeners to make themselves at home in the living room of her own little world. Her performing experience is extensive and includes opening for Ricochet and Terri Clark, providing the National Anthem at the Pioneer City Rodeo (Palestine, IL), and performing in concert with Shania Twain.

Her debut album, “Live at The French Quarter Cafe,” has been described as “perfectly paced and executed,” “smart and refreshing,” “one hit song after another.” Her second release, “Something Real,” embraces a more feminine, relaxed feel. Mark Bennett of the Tribune Star (Terre Haute, IN) describes it as “an easy listen, with hints of coffeehouse, country, folk and a ladies touch.” Both CD’s are available through CD Baby and iTunes. Roxie is currently working with producer Eddie Gore on a new album to be released in 2011.

Before his freshman year...

Live on the EPB stage 11/6: Jeff Miller

Before his freshman year of high school, Jeff Miller decided to sell all of his video games and buy his first guitar. Soon after, songwriting became a passion. He formed a band with two other friends in the Pittsburgh suburb where he grew up. They recorded an album and played numerous shows together.

After high school, Miller was off to Boston’s Berklee College of Music, where he studied Guitar Performance and Songwriting. His plan was to find compatible musicians, and to form another band. That never happened.

A degree from Berklee, a move back home to Pittsburgh, a move to Nashville, and 3 solo albums (and an EP) later, Jeff Miller is still playing music. In fact, he plays over 150 shows a year, touring the east coast and the midwest. His music has received airplay at over 175 stations, in the U.S. and abroad.

His third album, Seesaw, was co-produced by Matt Mangano (Darrell Scott, John Mayer, Dave Barnes), who also played bass on the album. It also features Nick Buda (Edwin McCain, Mindy Smith) on drums and percussion. The Pittsburgh Tribune raves, “Miller’s music is timeless. The songs on Seesaw are infectious delights.”

www.jeffmilleronline.com

Bring your ghosts and goblins for some trick or treating at...

Bring your ghosts and goblins for some trick or treating at Chattanooga Market this Sunday! Enjoy our fall produce, local art and unique gifts for early holiday shopping.
Her music has drawn comparisons to Over the Rhine, Brandi Carlile, and Rachael Yamagata but Hannah Miller remains a singer-songwriter uneasily pigeonholed, with flavors of Gospel, Soul, Pop, and Americana blending together to make a swirly, sweet sound of her own. And folks are taking notice, as her song “Keep it Simple” was recently featured on NBC’s, “Mercy”; she’s been asked to open shows for Landon Pigg, Katie Herzig, and Langhorne Slim; she was recently featured on MTVMusic’s blog as winner of MTV and Ourstage.com’s “Needle in the Haystack” competition; and this summer she was named winner or the Lilith Fair Talent Search for Charlotte, NC. She has released four independent albums, the most recent of which, “Journey to the Moon”, a four song EP released in August 2010, made Performer Magazine’s list of “Great Records from 2010”. Produced by Nashville’s Ian Fitchuk and Justin Loucks (Landon Pigg, Mindy Smith), it features four of Miller’s best songs to date. Born and raised in Dothan, AL, Hannah now lives in Nashville, TN with her husband and band mate, James, and their two beagle mixes, Gibson and Fender.

Growing up in southern Ohio, Kerry Kean was influenced by the music of the day, from Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan to the Beatles, the Stones and Led Zeppelin. The guitar was the sound, and from the moment his dad brought home an old Harmony arch-top, he was hooked, spending endless hours and wearing out countless records learning songs and riffs. This fascination with music also led Kerry to study piano technology, open a piano service and rebuilding business and eventually come to Kent Ohio where he served as Kent State University’s resident piano technician for 16 years.

Starting out with rock and roll, Kerry soon taught himself to play many other styles as well. Over the years, he has performed in various groups including folk trios, dance and show-bands, and jazz ensembles. For most of a year, he toured the country with the Parker Brothers, a national show group. At the same time, he has maintained a strong interest in acoustic finger-style and flatpicked guitar. Kerry gradually gathered a repertoire of blues, ragtime, and folk tunes, as well as writing his own songs, and in recent years this music has become a primary focus. While living in southern Ohio, He began performing as a solo act, and has shared a stage with artists like John Fahey, John Hartford, Nanci Griffith and others. In 1995 Kerry released “Guitarism”, a solo fingerstyle album which contains eight originals and two cover tunes and covers a wide range of musical territory. “Deer Tracks” from this album was selected for a Folknet compilation CD and is still in rotation on area radio stations.
