One of our customer favorites, Lee and Gordon Greens is a hydroponic greenhouse located in Chickamauga, Georgia.They provide the highest quality specialty lettuces, herbs, and micro greens year round.
Q: How long have you been a vendor at the market?
A: 4 years
Q: What is your sprouts program?
A: Our sprouts program is all about teaching young kids in second or third grade about Hydroponics. We let them tour the greenhouse and each child plants a lettuce seed. They then watch the progress via weekly emails to the teacher. Once the lettuce is mature we take those heads back to their class and they have a salad along with their regular lunch.

[hr] Basil Lemonade:
- 2 cups lemon juice, about 12 to 15 lemons
- 2 cups Basil Simple Syrup (ingredients below)
- 2 cups sparkling water
- Lemon twists, for garnish
For Basil Simple Syrup:
- 1 bunch fresh basil, washed and stemmed
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
Basil Simple Syrup:
In a saucepan combine basil, sugar, and water and simmer until the sugar is dissolved, 5 minutes. Cool, strain the simple syrup, and store in the refrigerator.
Mix lemon juice, Basil Simple Syrup, and water together in a pitcher. Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Pour over ice filled glasses and garnish with a lemon twist.
