[box type=”shadow”]Go bald or go home – it’s the 5th annual Jack’s Chattanoggins event, held at Chattanooga Market to raise money for kiddos with cancer. [/box]
Why do folks do this? Because more children are lost every year to childhood cancer than any other disease – more than AIDS, asthma, cystic fibrosis, congenital anomalies and diabetes combined. We shave heads to to bring awareness and financial support for the children who battle the unthinkable. And because a brave and philanthropic boy (now young man), Jack Skowronnek, began this event 5 years ago and expects to raise another $40,000 + this year to benefit the Children’s Hospital Foundation at Erlanger.
Shavees who wish to join the cause and fundraise should sign up at JackShaves.org. Believe it or not, people will give a lot of money to see you sacrifice your hair; but don’t worry, it always grows back!
